Pastor Pete Wyttenbach
Pastor Pete is a former middle school teacher at Kasson Mantorville Schools that answered the call from God to enter ministry in 2017. He is a graduate of Beyond the River Academy. He was raised in a Lutheran, Christian home and is grateful to have been able to grow up near most of his family.
Pastor Pete is blessed with a beautiful family. He is married to his loving wife, Jenny. Together they have three children; Megan, Rowan, and Aylah. Each of his family members bring joy to his heart and a daily reminder of just how abundant God’s blessings truly are.
Pastor Pete’s love for God, family, music, and ministry is evident as his true passion is building relationships with members of the church and community. He truly believes that we are all in this together, side by side, depending on each other and the grace of God to actively pursue a divine relationship with our Creator. Pastor Pete is blessed and grateful to work with Pastor Jeff Bernards (his former high school math teacher and football coach) and realizes the extreme honor it is to have such an important responsibility in shepherding God’s people alongside his coach and mentor. He is equally thankful to be able to serve and work with the loving and giving people of South Zumbro Lutheran Church.

Pastor Jeff Bernards
Pastor Jeff is a former high school math teacher (37 years!) at Kasson Mantorville Schools who answered the call from God to enter ministry as a second career. He is a graduate of Beyond the River Academy. Pastor Jeff continues to maintain his ties with the students of KM by coaching football and golf. His roots are in Brooklyn Center, where his mother, Elaine still resides.
Pastor Jeff is blessed with a beautiful family. He is married to Cynthia Bernards and they recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. They have four children and four grandchildren -- Joshua, wife Stephanie, children Amelia and Levi, son Adam, wife Cassandra, children Brielle and Abigail, daughter Rachel, and daughter Sarah.
Pastor Jeff is excited and blessed to work as a shepherd to the South Zumbro flock alongside Pastor Pete (former high school student and football player at KM). We already have discovered our unity in thinking on so many topics, yet we compliment each other in many other ways. As always it is amazing to see God at work, going before us, leading us and preparing the way. Pastor Jeff is enthusiastically looking forward to working with the people of South Zumbro in a new and different way.
Cindy Bernards
PARISH NURSE
Cindy (Johnson) Bernards graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1979, St. Olaf College in 1983 with a BSN, married Jefferson Bernards in 1985 and moved to Kasson-Mantorville. She is a mother of four: Joshua (1988), Adam (1991), Rachel (1996), Sarah (1998) and grandmother of four: Amelia, Brielle, Levi, and Abigail.
Cindy has been a member of SZLC since 1987, serving as a Sunday School teacher, member of WOW, choir member, and then director of the choir.
Cindy has been a Cardiovascular ICU nurse for 35 years at Mayo Clinic and was certified as a Faith Community Nurse/Parish Nurse by Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1998. She has served South Zumbro in that role leading the Health and Wellness Ministry, promoting the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of the congregants of South Zumbro, and giving “Intentional Care of the Spirit.”
